Once upon a time Windows and Linux were studying Maths in a school. After 30 minutes of teaching, the Maths teacher decided to spend the last 10 minutes in evaluating how well her students have learnt. So, she started asking questions. Lets see how it went.

Maam the length of this result is seven hundred and forty lines (740 lines!!!) and I have calculated all the fifty thousand, five hundred ten digits (50510 digits!!!) accurately.

Teacher: Mind blowing Linux! Very well done! You will do great in your life. Windows, you might earn a lot of money in your life but you will never earn respect. You might find your way to every home and children might love to play games on you, but computer scientists and hackers would stay away from you. They would choose Linux instead. You will only manage to become an idiot-friendly operating system but never a useful operating system.

I read an article posted at wincustomize which apparently claims an Esater Egg in Windows notepad application. Type the following string in the notepad "this app can break", save the file and reopening gives some Chinese characters (if you have chinese font installed) or some junk character (boxes). Well, I tried this and worked for me. I thought, this was not an easter egg and it has to be something other. So I did a little research in notepad and found this bug dosent occur for the above said string alone, it occurs for any string with four words and each word should have 4, 3, 3 & 5 characters respectively. Having found this, I wanted to know more about this and I searched over the net and found a technical explanation for this behaviour. This is limitation in windows itself specifically the Windows function that Notepad uses to figure out if a text file is Unicode or not. Yes, you read that right. We can listen to any pdf files provided the Acrobat reader version number is 6.0 and above. Do the following steps for listening to your pdf file.

1. Open the pdf document in the Acrobat reader. [Note the version should be 6.0 or higher]
2. Press the key combination Ctrl + Shift + B to hear the entire document. [The same can be found under Menu->View->Read out Loud->Read This Page]

I read two articles today, both are similar in context. There are guys out there selling out the open source software in internet. I have two reports in place. Check out this site, the guy changes the name of the open source product Open Office and sells it under the name Luxuriousity Office Suite for USD 29.95, similarly GIMP is also sold out under another name. The other guy sells out the popular Open Source softwares under the same name in eBay, Click here to check it out. He has compiled some Open source softwares and selling them for $. And the worser part is people are paying for it, when the same softwares are avaliable for free download in the Internet. There is no mention about the GNU License in the two cases. The only way to prevent this is to educate pepole about the Open Source softwares and the GNU license. This has to be stopped somehow.
